I wait for…
I wait for the moment I can hit my pillow
Bury my face, and know no sorrow
I wait for love
I wait to cry
I wait to sleep
I wait for lovers
For enemies
For friends who belong to me
I wait for drink
I wait for party
I wait for mingling
A bachelor’s patience
A poor man’s history
A rich man’s future
I am a novice
I am a scavenger
I am a fixture
I wait for you
More than you know
More than you feel
I wait in caves
I wait in waves,
Cycles, and chains…
I wait for me
To understand
To make a way
I wait for me
Beneath the sand
Beneath my mind
Beneath the rage
Beneath the earthquake
A volcano with age
I wait for art
I wait for Beauty
I wait for Truth
For understanding
I wait, and wait, and wait
I wait alone
I wait with men
I wait with comrades
I wait with colleagues
I wait with young ones
And without breath
I wait for love
I wait for war
I wait for strength
I wait for chocolate
And for coffee
And for news
I wait and smoke
I wait and choke
I wait so broke
I wait so broken
Wait so spoken
Wait so chosen
Wouldst thou relieve me
Would not thou feed me
Have not I waited
Have not I begged
Have not I trudged
Have not I sled
I wait downhill
I wait unworthy
But wait unburdened
Your truth is yours
You’d be all fours
For all my honor
Never my swords…
I wait for battle
I am the cattle
I am the man
I am the war
I am the king
I am what more
I am what you
Refuse I do
While waiting for you
In love, a fool
What shall I do
But what for you
My Queen, my love
Your knight, your sun
Your morning star
Your fist and scar
Your twist and ache
But oh of your face
I wait for love
I wait for you
I wait for battle
And I wait for TRUTH…
