Dear reader,
For years, this blog has been through a thousand changes. But this time I’m swinging for the stars.
As a committed writer, I’ve always wanted a magazine.
And now, with the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing as my new collegiate north star, I’m more driven than ever to get my art on the page. That is, my words, on as many pages as possible.
But enough about me.
You probably want to know what any of this has to do with you, especially if you regularly read my blog, are subscribed for the latest posts, or are just new to my brand of literary art and are ready for surprises and avant-garde content. For you all, I have this core message:
STAY TUNED.
Nothing is set in stone, everything changes, and one day I’ll publish a story with Barnes and Noble, another with the Kindle Store, others I’ll just post a poem or two on my blog and call it a day.
Then I got the idea that I could just release a periodical magazine using my very own blog as the method of delivery. So I wrestled with the idea for a few days, and soon, “Silk, Velvet, and Bone” was born.
I want you all to recognize the privilege of this moment in which a blogger starts an independent magazine from scratch with self-imposed deadlines and curating content in very much a “one man show” attitude. I sincerely hope you enjoy the sound of every instrument once you hear the tunes I play.
Issue No. 1 will be released about a week ahead of schedule. Going forward the magazine should be released on a monthly basis in the form of post ‘drops’ with a handful of content released on the same day with links to each piece of the magazine beneath the front cover on the homepage of STICKFIST.COM.
Where pieces are pulled from other sources, they are attributed appropriately.
And yes, there will still be stories and poems separate from the magazine showing up on the blog as usual. This is an addition to the blog, not some New Order.
So without further ado, I proudly present this online literary magazine for your perusing pleasure.
Don’t forget to like what you enjoy at the bottom of each post, tell a friend, and subscribe from the STICKFIST homepage!
