If Israel Finished The Job

By Emmanuel Williams

The issue at hand is what happens to the people of Palestine if Israel obeys the command from Trump to “finish the job”.

I can tell you without looking at an article (which I will) what will happen if Israel finishes the job.

Because what Israel started was massacring any one in the region connected to Hamas after the attack on Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7th where around 250 hostages were taken into tunnels to use as leverage after storming Israel’s border and, with rockets fired ahead of them, tipping their boiled pot of anger likely retaliating from the latest attack on the Gaza Strip in a neighbor to neighbor conflict that has been raging since Israeli settlers began stealing Palestinian land to eventually become the state of Israel.

The problem is, Palestine has been under Hamas rule and the militia swears what they do is in protection of Palestine, and since they came to power they’ve been trading rocketfire and the bombing of populated sites in cities with Israel, and Netanyahu has never taken this militia well.

Oct. 7th was the perfect reason to begin attempting to eradicate Hamas. What Netanyahu may have wanted the whole time but could not fathom until a red line was crossed.

250 of them.

250 reasons to displace an entire nation. Starve that refugee nation.

And since Hamas has a vast network of tunnels beneath Gaza where they store weapons, conduct attacks from, and if you’re going to eradicate Hamas, Netanyahu has been hitting them wherever they may even be suspected of being. That includes their homes and, for lack of a better word; “offices,” along with the tunnels.

And kaboom goes the Gaza Strip mile by mile, bomb after air-dropped bomb.

Finish what job? THAT JOB?!?!?!

THERE WILL BE NO PALESTINE LEFT.

Already they wait in line begging for relief as they bathe themselves in tent networks and daily run the risk of illness, starvation, or gunfire at any point between their temporary homes and any available relief.

If Israel wanted the territory of the Gaza Strip entirely integrated into their own, they may have it now. If they finish the job all they have to do is waltz along destroyed Gaza and turn the rubble into their new plush lazy boys with the cupholder, all on shag rug.

“Should we put a garden here, BiBi? Or how about over there, where that terrible preschool was?”

But switch gears for me real quick. Why did Trump give his blessing to Netanyahu to fulfill his deepest desire in the Israel-Hamas Conflict?

Report from CNN pains the picture of a meeting gone south in negotiating with Hamas, that prompted words in the Rose Garden that sounded like this:

“I think they want to die, and it’s very, very bad,” Trump said of Hamas before leaving for a weekend trip to Scotland. “It got to be to a point where you’re gonna have to finish the job.” (Liptak, 2025)

That sounds very bad. Because it paints a sad picture of Hamas. I heard Trump speak these words live on television and it sounded like his arms were just tied behind his back on an emotional level.

A breakdown in diplomacy if I’ve ever witnessed one.

But ‘Finish the Job’?

You would be finishing off the Palestinian People.

CNN also reports that both sides have responded after Trump’s words saying they were still open to ceasefire negotiations.

As long as there’s an end to Palestinian suffering.
