By Emmanuel Williams
I am one with the birds
I am one with the beasts
I fly, I soar
I hunt, I breed
I run, I fuck, I flee
I wait, I test
I want to be the best
I drink, I eat
I hug every tree
And through the great wind I can see
My tail and my wings
My spit when I sing
From my cave to my nest I can be
In the morningest stars
I sense where we are
We move forward
And we get set back
But our path travels far
Then we beg and we starve
I give more
And I don’t take it back
I am feral and wise
I’m a weightless surprise
I am evil and good and insane
I am hungry and lucky
With pluck I make money
All through the heartache and sun
I am one with the beast
I am one with the bird
I am noble, and willing,
And One.
