Congratulations to the LA Dodgers for winning the freakin’ World Series, 2025 this evening in a 5 – 4 victory in the 10th inning.

Since the inception of the MLB only select teams have become back to back champions. 

The Chicago Cubs in 1907 and 1908, the Philadelphia Athletics in 1910 and ‘11, the Red Sox in 1915 and ‘16, the New York Giants in 1921 and ‘22, the Philly Athletics again in ‘29 and ‘30. The Cincinnati Reds: ‘75, ‘76. New York Yankees: ‘77, ‘78. 

The Toronto Blue Jays have done it before. Yup. ‘92, ‘93.

The Yankees still hold the record for most consecutive titles AND for most straight title runs for a single franchise in baseball history.

As of 2025, The New York Yankees have won two consecutive titles for both (‘27, ‘28), with FOUR straight titles (‘36, ‘37, ‘38, ‘39), then FIVE straight titles (‘49, ‘50, ‘51, ‘52, ‘53), another two back to backs (‘61, ‘62), with their most recent consecutive titles in (‘98, ‘99, ‘00).

Tonight, the Dodgers put up their first double title in franchise history which is all they need to have pride in what they’ve accomplished tonight at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The Blue Jays haven’t held a championship title in 32 years.

This guy hasn’t seen every game of the world series but glancing at your phone during your busy life grieving that baseball is over, only to find that the world series is scheduled for another game, and another, and another, lets you know that each time is putting up their best arm, their best glove, their best bat, and hustling ass to get on base. 

And someone will not stop hitting homers!!

The experience once you can catch a World Series game in 2025 from focus of your work desk, to the calm of the home desk, or even in meditative moments on your train commute on your chosen mobile device, has been the second time a sport that was not soccer, felt like the only fans in the stands were soccer fans.

The sound of American sports this year has become strikingly similar to Premier League soccer with the yelling from fans getting lower and lower over time as the year comes to an end.

Nevertheless, I want to offer my most humble congratulations to the LA Dodgers. And don’t feel bad about the whole ridiculous Yankees consecutive title records glass ceiling.

At least your home team isn’t the Colorado Rockies…
