Every time I revisit Sex and the City, it’s from a new angle. Usually my love life is in a crisis, or I couldn’t stand what was going on in Game of Thrones, or I’ve just finished the latest season of Wednesday. Sometimes I just wanna observe their sophisticated girl talk.

But I always enjoy those moments where Carrie’s observations turn into the next theme for her column at the turn of phrase, “it made me wonder…”

So for a while I’ve tried out different column ideas of my own. I tend to write in a serial manner, that’s why I have a blog.

This time I have an angle that combines the basis of Carrie’s column with the broadness of subject somewhere between her and David Sedaris, without his treasure hunting in the forest of the mundane, and without Carrie’s hunting too close to the bed sheets.

I think I’ve found a healthy balance:

A millennial student in Denver trying to find the angle everywhere I go.

That means everything could potentially be held up to my own lense, as I investigate my life for who gets the benefit from events mostly out of my control. And some squarely in my own control. 

What’s the intention I’m missing, is it one we all are missing? Does it benefit us? Me? Or just the proverbial THEM?

I’m a 37 year old millennial sophomore at Metropolitan State University of Denver with a job in the Music Department, a volunteer writing position with the school paper, The Metropolitan. 

My love life is a mystery to me, my studies are tough subjects, but I love history, lectures in creative writing, I write fiction and poetry as well as hard news, opinion and essays.

But I sing and dance, I commute with public transit, I’m a stagehand and ticket scanner, and operate the door from the front desk at the Music Department’s Jazz building on Wednesdays and as needed.

I run into a lot of perspectives and various events ripe for investigation.
